Can I demand severance pay even if it is not stated in my contract?

I worked as a teacher in a private school for seven years now. I want to resign.

When you resign you are not entitled to severance pay. When your employment is terminated by your employer you may be entitled to severance pay. Severence pay means the money paid to an employee upon termination of your employment, in addition to other kinds of money agreed by the employer to pay to the employee.
